The stamping company KUCHLY was founded in 1956 by Mr. Florent KUCHLY. It specialized in the repair of agricultural tools (milling, turning, welding, etc.).
In 1963, sheet metal cutting appeared, and the company expanded into bicycle bells, toy winding keys (among other things).
In 1965, management was transferred to Mr. Jean KUCHLY, son of Mr. Florent KUCHLY. Cutting and stamping tools were handmade using techniques such as filing vice, conventional turning and milling, and manual diamond file fitting. These products were developed and manufactured for about twenty years.
In the 1980s, we were the last bicycle bell producer in France. The explosion of automobiles, compared to bicycles, forced us to diversify.
We then specialized in the cutting, bending, and stamping of metal parts.
In the early 1990s, tooling was modernized with the arrival of CNC milling and EDM.
In 1993, management was transferred to Mr. Christian KUCHLY, son of Mr. Jean KUCHLY.
Between 1995 and 2000, the machine park was renewed with the acquisition of new mechanical presses with clutches (instead of keys), a 50T automatic cutting machine, and a CNC shear.
In 2008, the company entered the web market with the sale of metal brackets for individuals and small carpentry businesses, for example.
In September 2015, the company CONSORTIO, represented by Mr. Yann ZIMMERMANN, acquired KUCHLY.
From 2016 to today, the company has invested over half a million euros in new means and technologies such as a latest-generation EDM machine, two new automatic uncoiling, cutting, and stamping lines, and tapping equipment integrated into the two new automatic lines, allowing all types of tapping to be performed directly in the press.
In 2022, the company reinvested 2 million euros in a new eco-responsible factory with low environmental impact.
The KUCLHY factory now produces as much electricity as it consumes, thanks to a 1000 m² surface of solar panels capable of producing 100 MWh.
We have also reinforced the building’s insulation by doubling all insulation materials and equipped it with biomass heating. All LED lamps are controlled by KNX sensors positioned in the skylights, which allows for less energy consumption when natural sunlight is sufficient.
In 2024, we transitioned to a fleet of electric vehicles and installed 4 charging stations available to the teams, powered by solar panels.
For 2025, the company is striving to develop new expertise to diversify its activities and meet the increasingly varied demands of its clients.
As part of our quality approach, we chose to get certified in ISO 9001 for quality, ISO 14001 for environment, ISO 45001 for safety, and ISO 26000 for social responsibility.
In 2024, we also passed the “ISO 50001 Energy Management. Our partner for this is JM CERTIFICATION.”
